The Transcendent Church of Bass is one of my favorite venues in Seattle, from the giant Andrew Jones artwork over the stage to the double toilet in the ladies’ room upstairs to the red cushion tent to the juice bar to the tiny little smoking patio. The energy here is always positive, the vibe is on and I have spent many happy nights spinning on the dance floor.

This Saturday night the Church of Bass is having a fundraiser called Salutations to the Soul to raise money for a new floor for their donation-based community yoga and meditation program.

Fifteen local electronic music crews are coming out to rock out two stages, one uptempo and one downtempo- check out this lineup:

  • Knowa Knowone
  • Lotus Drops
  • Andrew Luck vs. Dosadi
  • Ramiro
  • Kristina Childs
  • Rhines
  • Rob Noble
  • Jisaan
  • Jon Glist
  • Osiris Indriya
  • Nordic Soul
  • Waater Maark
  • Sweet Beets
  • Dope Labs
  • Crispy
  • Menami
  • Skoi Sirius
  • Jmeshelle

The benefit starts at 8PM with music and a silent art auction; suggested cover is $20 so come out to party with friends and support your community, and see the difference you can make!

Photosynthesis Festival 2009

Posted in Events, Festivals, Music News with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , on March 10, 2009 by worldromper

Last year’s Photosynthesis Festival 1.0 was one of the best parties of the summer in the Pacific Northwest, held on a mountaintop about two hours east of Seattle with three stages and some of the finest people you will ever come across. It was the weekend that I traded my soul to become eternally enslaved to techno, and you can read my sweet ass review here.

LiveNLove throws the dopest parties in the Seattle area, and whether you find yourself blissed out of your mind in an abandoned milk factory, deserted restaurant or under a city bridge, these renegade shows bring out top-notch crowds and the very best DJs and music-makers that the Seattle underground  community has to offer.

This year Kyle and crew is promising another spectacular outdoor event in August of this year and I may just have to get my ass back up to the Northwest for it. There is talk of a novaTRON lounge in the works and I must say I look forward to the day I will be hanging out with Ziggy and listening to dank wizard shit from the master.

Photosynthesis 2.0 is happening August 7-9 at Trout Lake Washington under Mount Adams will see the gathering of Ninja Tune, Sweatbox, From 0-1, Decibel, Innerflight, Sensory Effect, Epic Loot Guild, Transcendent Church of Bass, Buddhaful, and People of Earth to bring another epic celebration and collaboration of the international electronic community. GOD I LOVE MY FRIENDS!

Bring your tent, bring your volcano, bring your bacon and most importantly, be ready to get down and howl like feral children of the night all weekend long. Stay tuned on my blog for more information about lineups etc. or check back on PhotosynthesisFestival.com.

I have ONE photo from last year’s festival:
