Woo! aka Andrew Luck, is one of the pimpmasters of the Seattle midtempo community as well as a fine producer and DJ. He has just released “Pumping Quarterz” featuring Dosadi on the Street Ritual label.

I really like it; I listened to it four times through and then put it on my Myspace profile immediately.

But then again, I do like delicious bitches.

New Street Ritual Video: ABAI feat. Nikila Badua “Temple Party”

Check out this new video from Abai: “Temple Party” featuring Nikila Badua and brought to you by Street Ritual. Listen to the whole fresh-released album Fearless here.

Vodpod videos no longer available.

Here’s the scoop:

Fearless is a cultural alchemy – a spell cast from our time’s most revolutionary of sounds – dubstep and hip hop meets a burner breaks delivery with catchy, bass-heavy instrumentation and dare-we-say, pop music sensibility.  The evolution is logical, and only a brave soul could summons these deadly styles together.

“Abai’s Fearless is bold as its title suggests – a poetic adventure ranging from party tracks and lust to conscious societal and political imagery.  Following music from coast to coast, Abai developed his musical talents for drums and piano from a young age and started to procure his sounds for hip-hop over a decade ago.

“Most recently, Abai’s production has been featured on Myka 9 of legendary Haiku D’etat’s recent project Magic Heart Genies, seeing a 12″ release last October.  Following Street Ritual’s highly acclaimed debut KnowSleep, Abai’s first solo full-length effort Fearless promises an empoweringlisten, sure to keep you bumpin’ anywhere you can pump the bass.”
