Friday Mix – PRESSHA “Everything In Moderation”

Posted in LISTEN TO THIS with tags on April 27, 2012 by worldromper

As half of dubstep’s unstoppable forward motion has splayed out Skrillex-style into aggressive, mid-range rave sounds dominated by shirtless bros and tweens, the other half has moved towards the more sensual, sexy, melodic side of midtempo bass music for a more holistic experience.

Pressha is one of the most talented DJs I know, always with his ear to the ground for the freshest, newest sounds. In this mix “Everything In Moderation,” he doses out some of the choicest bass music around for your Friday listening pleasure.

Catch Pressha at the following shows in May:

  • May 4: Boom Blap Tour w/ Gladkill, Love and Light @The Hop-Spokane, WA
  • May 5: Boom Blap Tour w/ Love and Light @ Shredder-Boise,ID
  • May 11-13: Emissions Festival, CA
  • May 25: Ruckus @ B.C.’s Portland,OR

Posted in LISTEN TO THIS with tags , on November 23, 2010 by worldromper

This fruity and frothy mix will lift you up. Pressha is one of my favorite DJs and the very best kind – one who furiously follows new tunes coming out in a wide variety of genres from producers all over the world – with an emphasis on the West Coast, of course. Indulge your ears with this fun collection of midtempo mayhem and just try not to dance.

Decibel Festival Showcase Spotlight: WEST COAST LOVE – dB in the Park (Saturday)

The West Coast of America has never had a problem with low self-esteem. Referred to as the “Best Coast” by chilled out lefties from sunny San Diego to the emerald city of Seattle, this slice of the country was settled by pioneers and immigrants in search of the boundless opportunities and freedom of lifestyle that this edge of the world provides. Today many dreamers, doers and nature-lovers still flock towards the crashing waves of the Pacific Ocean to live in an area that enjoys a laid-back yet dialed-in vibe, progressive cultural attitudes, plenty of wide open spaces and green, green grass. Get SLIPPERY in Miami: THE ONLY Glitch Hop Show of WMC 2010: Mochipet, Fresh2Death, S.P.E.C.T.R.E, PrEssHa & more!

Posted in Events, Festivals, Music News with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , on February 15, 2010 by worldromper

Oh I have been dying to announce this show!

Winter Music Conference is known for a lot of fast-flung trance and progressive untz-untz, without too many options on the other end of the spectrum. Ultra Music Festival has booked some mad bass talent like the Glitch Mob and Bassnectar; however outside of the giant rave you are going to have a hard time finding any filthy glitchy whomp.

Luckily for lovers of the low end, SLIPPERY presented by Miami Glitch will be there to bring the bass, featuring heaps of fresh crunk talent from all over the United States.

Loveable freakazoid Mochipet of Daly City Records headlines the party and we also have Fresh2Death from the Denver Bass Squad featuring Ben Samples and Greg Fisk. Adding to the lineup is one of my favorite mixmasters S.P.E.C.T.R.E. and one of my best friends who destroys dance floors everywhere he goes, PrEssHa. Supported by GlitchFM, Slippery is also a showcase of some of the DJ talent that regularly plays on the station, including HipGnosis, Stutterfly and Afro Monk, with locals Munkz, Gooddroid and MC Farfetched rounding things out.

Slippery goes down Saturday March 27 from 10PM to 5AM at Club Cinema upstairs located at 637 Washington Avenue. We will have drink specials all night long and the cover is free with RSVP to SlipperyWMC@gmail.com. Stay tuned on DF5K for all the details and click here for the Facebook event page.
