The newest whompcast, from ill-esha of Vancouver, BC is extra-crunchy; it gnaws on you as it evolves, the eclectic set getting better and better the whole way through until all the mother lovers unite in bass bliss euphoria. I started the mix over as soon as it finished, ‘cuz I’m a fanatic like that. Ill-esha is the shit.

This singer, rapper, producer and DJ will be performing next month on July 16 at Seattle’s new glitch, dubstep and bass music monthly: Thirdsdaze. Also on the lineup are locals Zacharia, Aksion and Kat1lyst.

Listen and check the tracklist here or subscribe to the Whompcast in iTunes!

Note to readers: The whompcast website will be back up on June 16, when my homie gets his paycheck. The huge response to ill-esha’s whompcast crashed his shit.

Dirty Filthy Whompcast: S.P.E.C.T.R.E.

I absolutely adore every mix I have heard out of  S.P.E.C.T.R.E. from the Mile High City; in fact I was just listening to his WMC set last night at 3AM driving home from the OC.

But I woke up to a new mix, ripe with the fatty bass sounds and eclectic track choices to hit you hard in the noggin right where you need it. Good shit. Well done.

Dirty Filthy Whompcast: LUKKI

When it comes to Seattle dubstep, Lukki is the man. Founder of Shift Recordings and cofounder of Dub Alliance Records as well as the forum WestCoastDubstep.com, he is an integral weapon in the futurement of dubstep on the West Coast.

And way more than that, I hear nothing but mad respect coming from Seattle DJs about Lukki, how he encourages them personally and selflessly supports the Seattle dubstep, grime, and bass community- now that’s my kind of man.

Listen to and download Lukki’s whompcast here.

Thanks to Rockit Science for the whompcast and Ryan Hodgkinson for the sweet gif!
