The Produkt family along with Rockit Science hits us again with the best party of the month in Seattle: Analog, where the dance floor is full, the screams are loud, the alcohol flows like honey and the bass will facefuck your mind right out of your head. In a good way.

Friday May 22 brings Colorado boy S.P.E.C.T.R.E. to town; this guy is one of my very favorites out there right now. He has made my Top Ten list six times and I listen to his mixes fanatically. I have never heard him live,  but I sure as hell want to. Do it for me, Seattle- you’re so good at it.

Also on the lineup: Andrew Luck and Dosadi, two of the 206’s tightest members of the bass community, and Grym, who not only designed the flyer below but loves to dish out dirty beats as well. You can check out Grym’s latest mix here, a whompcast featuring Sonic MC.

MC Anton Bomb rounds out the performers, and will somebody please buy this man of epic energy a shot for me or pour some champagne on his head or something? ‘Cuz it’s his birthday and I won’t be around to get crazy on the dance floor with him.

Have fun out there Seattle!

Dirty Filthy Whompcast: S.P.E.C.T.R.E.

I absolutely adore every mix I have heard out of  S.P.E.C.T.R.E. from the Mile High City; in fact I was just listening to his WMC set last night at 3AM driving home from the OC.

But I woke up to a new mix, ripe with the fatty bass sounds and eclectic track choices to hit you hard in the noggin right where you need it. Good shit. Well done.

At Analog X: I Like Orange and Techno

By Produkt, hands down the maddest party crew in Seattle, and my family.

In the 206? Check out Analog Friday night (4/24) as Produkt and Uniting Souls combine forces at THE Rebar for some fatty dope house music from DJs Mes, Ramiro, and Trevor.

Ana Sia w/Danny Corn as 3WS in Seattle @ Analog Feb 27th

Ana Sia’s dynamic delivery of brain-fazing beats has earned this Princess Slay-ah a pioneering place in the West Coast future sound movement. Her love of the low end combined with an intense understanding of the importance of dance to the human soul fuse together to create unforgettable sets of experience, whether she is slamming spots in her home of San Francisco or taking her turn in forests and at festivals around the country.

Let this artist bring you on an eclectic musical expedition into the deepest reaches of your own brain, delighting the rumble-lover in your soul as your thankful body tries to keep up. Ana Sia masterfully mixes a wide spectrum of rhythms with a beautiful fluidity and a delicate sensibility, giving the dance floor a delightfully wonky ride that ends at the corner of bliss and oblivion. Uniting the best elements of dirty dubstep, grimy glitch, and her personalized blend of “global slut psy-hop,” Ana Sia’s sets confirm crunk status of all who dare enter into the seamless sound-world of this woman of whomp.

Prepare to be annihilated as Ana Sia performs alongside Danny Corn as 3WS; the two are connected by the love of a bass-drenched world and will no doubt be having as much fun as the dance floor onto which they drop reverberating rhythms from the sky.

3WS plays Analog XIX put on by Produkt at Rebar on February 27th with support from local bass sluts PrEssHa and Noisemaker in what promises to the dopest Seatown show of the month.

Shilo is jealous.

Going Down This Week (Nov 24-30)

Your weekly list of Shilo-approved electronic music events in Seattle:

Most of you are probably making Thanksgiving plans, driving to see the family, gathering friends around to eat pie and shit. Whatever. Have fun with your lame-ass holiday.

For the rest of us to whom the holidays mean nothing, guess what? It is time to party. Here:

Tuesday:

  • Naha Army at the Grotto (the basement of the Rendezvous in Belltown): bring your arms and your legs and party with Naha, MC Anton Bomb, Break 6, Mickey Procon aka Cory Popcorn, and lots of art! FREE!
  • VIBE at Contour with BANGIN’ TECHNO from Travis B, Ctrl_Alt_Dlt, pantycontrol, and Michito
  • M83 at Neumos- Electropop francais. All the music nerds will be here, gazing at their shoes.

Wednesday (Thanksgiving Eve!):

  • Kraak and Smaak at the Nectar bring one of the Netherland’s hottest acts to Fremont. Hot and sweaty.
  • Chilled-out dance church at the Church of Bass
  • GOBBLE ON DEEZ has a horrible name and even worse flyer (both no doubt dreamed up by some one with a y chromosome), but it is in the sweet new underground venue with two huge rooms in SoDo I have been hearing so much about. There are about 20 DJs but I am looking forward to Zacharia, Rob Noble, Manahan, Goner, Pressha, Noisemaker, and Northstar. $10, BYOB

Thursday:

  • Midtempo Madness: FREE glitch hop and crazy mid tempo shit at the Crimson C. NOTE: this is the last Thursday or any day you should ever go to Crimson C. They backed out on us for the use of their venue 1.5 weeks before our show IN TEXT. Bullshit business practices and you should no longer support this bar EVER. After Thursday.

Friday: LYNZIE’S BIRTHDAY!

  • Herbaliser at Nectar performing as full live band, Sun Tzu Sound opens.
  • Analog at Rebar: Deep House from Deep Space. Househeads rejoice.

Saturday:

  • Zacharia and Rob Noble at Onset, if ya missed ’em at Gobble on Deez
