Strange Utopia Tour: Strangeloop, Teebs, Shlohmo & Timeboy
The freaks are on the loose…You may have seen this video from Strangeloop I posted a few weeks ago; if not then take a moment to watch the audio visual work that Daddy Kev says is “unbelievably good.”
Mary Anne Hobbs of BBC Radio 1 is also a fan; she “can tell you Strangeloop is seriously involved in pioneering the next step in the evolution of performance, fusing sonics, narrative, and visuals into an overwhelming hyper-sensory experience.”
The West Coast tour features not only Strangeloop, whose visuals and music blow my mind on a frequent basis here in LA (like right here), but also Teebs, Shlohmo and Timeboy along with regional specialities Ras G, Eskmo, Nico Luminous and Splatinum, all of whom have graced the posts of this blog before.
From the press:
Strangeloop is releasing his album “2010: (or) How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Technological Singularity”. “2010” is an Audio / Visual, all 100% original work DVD releasing through the Institute for Cinema Studies. [Strangeloop is] premiering “2010” at Ann Arbor Film Festival with Flying Lotus and opening for Flying Lotus’s record release party of the forthcoming album “Cosmogramma” which features Thom Yorke.
