Seattle is Calling! Decibel Festival September 23-26 ~ $100 Early Bird Passes
The highly acclaimed Decibel Festival of Electronic Music, Visual Arts and New Media takes place this year September 23-26 in one of my very favorite hometowns, Seattle. From now until the end of May, a pass to the 4 day festival is only $100.
THIS IS NOT YOUR AVERAGE FESTIVAL.
Unlike many festivals, the main concern of Decibel is not to book the most famous DJs who will play the most popular genres and will no doubt sell out huge rooms and make shit tons of money. In fact, it’s quite possible to attend Decibel and not hear a drop of psytrance, breaks or electro, probably the three most popular EDM genres in the world.
Rather the festival focuses on under-promoted musical styles, up-and-coming producers and record labels that are pushing forward the evolution of electronica. Decibel leans towards the left and is smartly curated into showcases that aim to convey a musical idea, moving minds as well as bodies. And dear GOD do the people of Seattle know how to party!
Since May 1, Decibel has been announcing one performer per day on Twitter and Facebook, so follow/be a fan for all the fresh updates. Here are the performers who has been announced thus far- click on the names for more information.
