Dr. Strangeloop during Gaslamp Killer’s set

SO

Bassface was awesome. First of all, Pure Filth’s system + Sam always on point = best sound system on the West Coast? Quite possibly. The sound is immaculate, and the bass takes on other dimensions.

The line was super long, the cops tried to step, but Lot 613 is a fully licensed venue so the party continued. I was inside in time to catch the very last of Gaslamp Killer’s set and he was throwing down some wicked drum and bass-laced madness with Strangeloop’s twisted visuals booming in the background for a wild effect.

Flying Lotus was next, and what can I say? I danced with a wide smile smeared across my face for his entire set, which was absolutely inspiring. And Daedelus’ live set was straight slammin; conducting the crowd like a master magician in white tails, his special blend of eight thousand genres cannot be confined to words; you must see him live.

DO NOT MISS the next Bassface on January 30 with Jakes and Take, it will be held at the same place, the certified venue Lot 613. And for the love of bass, if you want to get into the party: GET THERE EARLY.

Also catch Daedelus this Thursday at I AM A LASER at Club Nokia Mezzanine Lounge.
