D.I.M. @ THE Chop in Seattle March 14
OH, you like your techno THAT WAY, do ya? I know what you mean.
Andreas Meid, or D.I.M. to you and me, scrapes the filth off the floor and crams it through the speakers and into your skull piece. His twisted bass and echoing bleeps are covered in stardust- all the better to grind up against the dark parts of your soul. D.I.M.’s thick techno and electro grabs you through the middle of the chest like Mola Ram and just when you think you can’t take any more, another fat, melodic layer drops on your head, contaminating you for the rest of your life. Producing two of the steaziest tracks of 2007 on Turbo Records, “Airbus” and “Sysiphos,” this in-demand artist has been hailed by everyone from Sven Vath to Justice, not to mention his production partner, Boys Noize. Having remixed The Presets, Chromeo, Midnight Juggernauts, Teenage Bad Girl and Franz Shape, D.I.M. is one of the nastiest, freakiest techno bangers on the planet, a statement with which the kids on his dance floor screaming “FILTHY!” will no doubt agree.
