Those who witnessed the beyond-wild Low End Theory stage at the Eagle Rock Music Festival last month will have fond memories of the north Los Angeles neighborhood. Now beat freaks of all ages can return on a monthly basis to the Eagle Rock Center for the Arts for FUTURA, a new future music monthly curated by Teebs (whose exquisite album Ardour just dropped on Brainfeeder) and Asura of Non Projects.
The monthly launches this Friday November 12 with performances by the curators and special guest Quartetto Fantastico, a string quartet that slides towards jazz and features Miguel Atwood-Ferguson. Creating visuals for the arts-centric night are none other than Flying Lotus and Strangeloop. Read more about the event in the LA Weekly here.
